General

It is important to realize BetterWMF internally uses AutoCAD's original WMFOUT to create a first version of the picture. That picture is modified (made better) and this results in the final picture.
Whenever you encounter a problem please try AutoCAD's original WMFOUT. If the problem is there as well ask yourself: is BetterWMF supposed to improve this?

Picture improvements

BetterWMF can improve your picture in many ways but there are also a few settings beyond BetterWMF's control that can improve your picture.
Many of the settings would improve a normal WMFOUT or COPYCLIP as well.

Setting Remarks
VIEWRES When circles look like they are made of many straight lines you can increase the AutoCAD VIEWRES setting
Zooming It helps if you more or less zoom in to the objects you are about to select for the WMF.
IMAGE Whenever IMAGE's are attached to the drawing the result of AutoCAD's normal WMFOUT is of lower resolution. BetterWMF cannot improve that.
You may DETACH the images in the IMAGE menu (note: UNLOAD is not enough).
MS-Word Older version of MS-Word sometimes have trouble pasting pictures with linewidth (overshooting lines).
This is solved for MS-Word 2000 with Microsofts Service Release 1.0.
The following two settings have no effect on BetterWMF pictures.
WMFBKGND In AutoCAD 2000 and above you can set WMFBKGND to OFF.
In AutoCAD 2000 it was useless as white lines would disappear.
It works more or less works like BetterWMF's 'Remove Background' option but it lacks the cropping features of BetterWMF
WMFFOREGND Introduced in AutoCAD 2000i. Must be set to OFF for WMFBKGND/OFF to be usefull.
It works more or less like BetterWMF's 'Make white lines black (when removing background)' option.
